High end dual stereo (quad) compressor/limiter in 1U.
Calrec were up there with Neve, Audix, SSL etc. This unit sold for £2800 in 1999, which is pricey now, but was a shed-load nearly 20 years ago. Built to broadcast specs, so built to last.
I'm looking for £1400. I've seen these for sale...

Do those in the know think these units look decent? The gain stage is stepped and the 4 bands of EQ are fixed frequencies. Also has phase reverse, amp in/out and EQ in/out swithches.
Think they are Telefunken. Sorry for small pic.
Cheers
Hi folks
I have also posted this on Gearslutz.
I'd love some feedback on my demo's. www.myspace.com/kanewilliamsmusic
Any sort of feedback welcome, musicality, lyrics, recording, mixing etc etc.
I know that they are not perfect by any means. I know I can sing them better and in places the...
Hi
I am having my Nemesis Q4D dual parametric EQ upgraded and serviced by Gareth Connor, the designer of the unit and I would also like to give it a cosmetic make over too, so that it is a true 'Special Edition'.
I want to spray the unit piano black and have yellow legends/markings and...
Can anyone help me out?
I have had to wipe my hard drive (managed to save my songs) and I can't seem to get the OS (Win XP Pro) to install again. Keep getting an PCI.sys error when booting up from my LEGIT Win XP CD.
I found out that this is to do with me needing a disc that already has SP2...
Hello
I have a classic ADR 760X-RS Compex (with transformer) that is in need of some attention. It needs some new pots for sure (3 or 4 have been snapped off), but possibly other repairs (caps etc) and a general look over/service.
I also have an 1178 that has one dodgy VU meter and could do...
Hello
I've been getting more work doing small PA's singing over instrumental house tunes etc. Sometimes they just want me to plug into the in house sound system and feedback is sometimes an issue.
I have been using an AKG C535eb condenser, which I realise is probably adding to the feedback...
Hi
My friend wants some powered monitors just for listening to music. He's not a musician or producer, just likes music and wants something decent to listen through.
He likes the sound of his house mates Alesis Monitor 2's (powered), but they are a little larger than he'd like.
I have a small...
This mic company claims to be about to shake things up in the recording industry (don't they all)! They say they are not an OEM product, and designed (not sure about manufacture) in the UK! The price is not 'low end', but in the middle area, so may be they are 'legit'??
They look very cool...
Hi there
Looking for a clean, 'high end' musical sounding pre like the M1 or Buzz Audio MA 2.2. I think the latter would be out of my budget? Willing to pay upto $800 for 1 channel or $1100 for 2 channels.
Cheers
Just wondering if anyone on this forum has ever bought from this seller before? What did you buy and was the service good? His prices seem very good on some items, but are there any pitfalls when buying from this seller?
I'm thinking of getting an AT4060 from him, as in the UK they are over...
Has anyone found the 19dBA self noise to be a problem when recording vocals in a home studio?
I know that it has a hot output, so do you think it may be too loud for my Joe Meek VC1Q (not CS) , M-Audio DMP2 or Safe Sound P1? I guess I could use the pads on the pre amps, which should be enough...
Selling this for a friend.
He wants $700 (£400). These rare gems often go for over $1000. The mic is not the best cosmetically, but it has been professionally cleaned inside and out and fully tested. It sounds how it should, sweet and smooth!
I'm not sure how long he will have this for, so...
Which of the Blue mics are best for male (soulful) vocals? Are the 'cheaper' Blueberry and Dragonfly good for this purpose and how do they compare with the more expensive Mouse and Kiwi?
Thanks

Hi there,
I want to get a tube mic for my vocals, as I have a few FET based condensers and want something smoother and richer. I do intend to try to test all these mics and preferably at the same time, but what are the opinions here? Which offers the best sound for the pound (£)?
Rode K2, SP...
I think this is a bit of a minor classic, but just wondered how desirable it is? I know someone with one and want to know if it's worth trying to grab it from them? How much is fair for him and good for me!!??
