My Dad had one done in 2007. The doc screwed up somehow and they had life flight him to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for emergency surgery. Since then he has had to wear a colostomy bag. I spent the week at the hospital with him, was not a fun time.
I have had one too but all went well. The anesthesia the gave me was the same stuff that MJ died from. Good stuff, I didn't feel a thing. Went to sleep, woke up and it was all done.
