Problem solved, I feel like an idiot

I posted a new version just now. I took out the sonic maximizer and dialed back the presence a bit. I went to a single mic, and moved it back a few inches and aimed it away from the cap.

Does anyone have any good snare samples(for metal) I could get or know where to find some? I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some good tom samples as well.... hell maybe even a kick if its fat and punchy but I'm more worried about the snare.

I use a Tascam US-1800 with cubase 5. The question is this.... How do I monitor what I am playing while I record and still at the same time hear the playback tracks? I do not have studio monitors all I have at the moment is headphones.
