Tried some times, but I could only use it for creating BG choirs. Whenever I sing with all my heart, I have a rather distorted voice that made autotune run wild as well as it made TC VoiceLive... There are some harmonics in the voice due to the distortion, that seem to make my voice hard to track...

I don't get why you don't wanna avoid the hiss... Such a retro synth? IMHO, all noise reduction stuff sucks a lot of the life out... If creedence did tricky fade outs, it might have been a problem of that time... I had the impression, that every time I had too much hiss, it was an error made by...

I assume you're kinda overdoing it, but I assume that it will be useful for understanding what you'll have to do in the next mixes. Sidechaining a multicomp to get clarity in the mix seems a little too much for me, but YMMV. I assume, that some of the 2000ish pop punk sound did stuff like that...

...afaik, the eleven rack gives you exactly that possibility, as it records the nonamped track together with the amped one, so you can use another additional amp as well. Instead of using heavier distortion, you can often use more *rerecorded* tracks, if the guitar player is capable of doing...

I assume your singer is not that good a singer as you might think. Mic control is one of the most important things for a (non-opera) singer. A lot of the learning curve can be pampered, if You help him as a 'producer'. Adjust levels for him. Show him what proximity does. If that's too much work...

I think that the H4n might be the way to go. You *might* be lucky to find one on the bay used for around 100€. It is no 'real' vocal mic, so voices tend to sound thin, but it gives alot more depth than the (cellphone? skype mic) solution she's prolly using now... And you can add external mics...

I've done recordings with a simple 58 Beta handheld through my VS mic input that did neither sound tinny nor muffled (nothing around, scibble down an idea...). They definitely did miss that 'pro' silky high end shine (but a lot of my recordings do ;) ) I also assume that you're doing something...

I assume the Phase Inversion will get nasty comb filtering, as it is not a sample U use and will therefore Sound different with every hit... But it will be worth a try. I assume that the EQ Approach will work better, especially, if you use only short fades to the EQed track and back. I assume...

I have the Impression that the predelay is rather big on the 'volare'-verb. To me it sounds like a rather Long and narrow room. High damping seems to be quite strong, while the low damping is rather low. But I may be wrong, anyway...

I think your track Sounds OK, I'd only try to cut some highs on the ambience, once you add them, as there, the esses ight disturb...

...and try to look over at vsplanet; it's getting more and more quiet, but for VS, it is a good ressource (esp. if you do searches)...

I've been Messing around with a VS880EX for quite a while. I tried to go the Audio-CD-Burner route and IMHO it is to be avoided! The CDs (Audio CD-R) are REALLY expensive unless you use a VERY expensive burner (and they will be hard to get, soon). In the EX Manual, it is stated, that there is a...
