...does marshall still make a 50 watt version of the...

You should read my second post. Marshall reissued the 2203, but not the 2204. You could do what I do, and knock your volume knob on your guitar back halfway, so you can really crank the thing. EBAY is a good place to find used jcm800's. They usually go for around $500-800 USD depending on condition.

How many mics do you mic your kit with? Name the mics.

Usually, overheads - ECM800's Snare (bottom)- SM57 Bass (in front) - AKG D112 Since we never have a great room, I hardly use room mics. We add sequence and shit afterwards to. With this setup, it sounds pretty good.

    Good way to record Snare

When I mic a set, I try to make sure the set sounds as good as possible before hand. Also, make sure the player is well warmed up and everyting. You're already two thirds of the way there. I doubt you have a great room to record in, but dont be afraid of letting some air in those mics. A drum...

...does marshall still make a 50 watt version of the...

fuck me,...I guess thats what I get when I dont read the title thoroughly. marshall is making a reissue of the 2003, arent they? I've heard they're overpriced. You can buy cheaper on ebay. Either way, i say go sovtek or matamp. vl

What do I need for a computer setup?

I plan on building this unit myself. I hope to use Sonar 2.2 with a M-Audio Delta 44 I/O. I was hoping that you guys could recommend what components to get (and from where). I hope to keep the computer around 1000-1300 Dollars US. I will use it for band stuff (drums mic'd with 4 mics, bass...

    Recording Question

Either that, or just track the drums off the bat with everyone playing in real time, then overdub.

Whats a good interface to use with Cakewalks Home Studio?

Re: Re: Whats a good interface to use with Cakewalks Home Studio? Well, I'm sure glad someone steered me on the right path! Thank you friend! I was looking at Sonar. I guess thats what I'm gonna go with then. I was definately looking at the Delta stuff. Thanx for the input. vl

Whats a good interface to use with Cakewalks Home Studio?

I went with what you guys suggested, and am working backwards! I chose Home Studio because it looked simple, has unlimited recording tracks, is cheap, and...well, i guess thats it. I'm going to be recording my band. Drummer, Bassist, Guitarist (me), singer, and sometimes a Rhodes...

thoughts on playing bass outta Dual rectifier head to Bass cab?

I've done that in the past. What it gets is a really good distorted bass sound if you use a good cab with it. vl

    What format should I use?

I'm looking to get into computer recording. I was wondering what format should I use? ie. Cakewalk, Pro Tools, etc. I have to get a computer, as well. Can anybody suggest if I should get a Mac or PC? Its for my band and my studio. The most tracks I would need are like 16 to 24. I already have...
