Insulation Causes Cancer? Will a Barrier Help?

I wonder if saran wrap could work. I already have a big roll of that.

Insulation Causes Cancer? Will a Barrier Help?

Thanks a lot! You guys have been knowledgeable as always. I was mostly worried about exposure overtime, so that helps. I remember digging through construction site garbage cans as a kid and getting all that pink stuff all over myself and that hasn't killed me so far. So, I think I'll be okay...

Insulation Causes Cancer? Will a Barrier Help?

Hello. So I'm building some panels for my home studio using wood frame, acoustic fabric, and roxul insulation. I watched a video yesterday by acoustic fields about how this kind of insulation has been shown to cause cancer because the particles float and you breathe them in. Now, I realize...

Why won't my Les Paul stay in tune?

Okay, so I have an '09 Les Paul Studio, but I haven't played it much in the last few years because it won't stay in tune. I took it to Sam Ash and suggested it may be a nut issue (I've heard LPs have a lot of issues with the nut). The luthier decided it was the tuners, so he put Grover's on...

    Cheap Soundproofing for Door?

Same. So I went to both Home Depot and Lowes yesterday, hoping they might have some of this sound board stuff, but they'd never heard of it. I would have just gotten drywall, but the employee at Home Depot dissuaded me from doing so. I also went to Sam Ash to see if they could order anything...

    Cheap Soundproofing for Door?

Great info everyone! Thanks a lot. What type of drywall would you recommend? Should I avoid the kinds that say lite?

    Cheap Soundproofing for Door?

Hello everyone. So my room has thick walls, but my door is very thin. I'd like to keep sound from leaking out through the door. What is the best thing I could do to soundproof my door for under $60? Thanks a lot!

    Doubling Acoustic Guitars

Thanks for the great advice, everyone! Very helpful. I recorded the song in question on a Taylor and an Ovation so they should be (sonically) pretty different. I get what was said about playing slightly different things, I'm going to keep that in mind for future recordings. I'm experimenting...

    Doubling Acoustic Guitars

Is there a way to record doubled acoustic (or even electric rhythm parts) without having them sound like shit in mono? Or should I just avoid doubling strummed acoustic parts? They always seem off when I listen back on devices like phones or laptops that play in mono, no matter how much time I...

Looking to upgrade my studio amp

I didn't know that about the Boogie. That definitely makes it an interesting option! Was your deluxe a 65 RI or a 68 RI? Or was it vintage? I tend to prefer the 68 RI's.

Looking to upgrade my studio amp

Thanks! 6g2 is just barely out of my price range, though. Although, I am considering a Deluxe reverb now (I know it's not that much cheaper), not sure how they do as studio amps though.

Looking to upgrade my studio amp

When I was 18 or 19 I was talked into buying a Blackstar HT Stage 60 combo with 2x12 speakers at Sam Ash. Needless to say, it's a little bit much for what I need in the studio and despite trying everything I can think of, I've never been able to get a crunchy or distorted sound that I'm...

    What Time Signature is This?

Interesting, I didn't think it was 4/4, because it does have a weird feel to it. Thanks a lot guys.

    What Time Signature is This?

This is an original song I'm working on, but I'm bad with time signatures. Can some one help me figure out what time this is in? Thanks. https://clyp.it/3rgjgzgf

    Need experienced ears (Guitar Tone)

I'm sure it was. I just put on new strings a few days ago, still breaking them in. I was asking more along the lines of how the tone sounds than how the tuning is. When I go to record the actual takes for the song I'll be sure they're in tune :) Thanks for the input though.
