    Bye Bye Hillary 2024

You are a walking encyclopedia- of misinformation. Your hatred is dangerous, it's true. The conspiracy theories you're spouting about democrats is sheer lunacy. You quote Fox News with a straight face. I'm sorry- you've been had. You are putty in their hands. One needn't attain higher...

    Reamping with pedals

As the previous reply suggested, an ITB approach with plugins would give you greater flexibility and control. BUT- your concept is interesting and worthwhile. I've personally only reamped from DAW to amplifier, sometimes with pedals in the chain. I'm curious about reamping just to pedals and...

Anyone ever mic an unamped electric guitar?

Have you tried other outlets in your house? My place was built in 1959 and is ungrounded. I went around with a multimeter and found two outlets that ARE grounded, just by chance/accident. I have sometimes run extension cords from these ti the amps in my office.

    Old school drum recordings

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for a farfield room mic situation, you need condenser mics, not 57s. And it's always cool to additionally record close mics on the kick, snare and toms, whether or not you ultimately mix them in; it gives you options later.

    Sloppy drums!

I disagree with the chap from 2012 who insisted on the use of a click. The best, most timeless classics were of a full band recording simultaneously, with subtle tempo shifts. Now, that band needs to consist of members who have all put in the work with a metronome- that's the rub, IMHO...

    Rock song: Cave Paintings

I like the acoustic and drums. Seens like the opening lead guitar could be folded into the mix better (eq-wise). I kind of like the dry vocals- bleak, Roger Waters vibe. But those phrase-ending lyric restatements could be treated with something special (delay or another effect).

The Battle Of Brighton Beach '64

Awesome organicness. The Who, indeed! That's probably even a 4-mic kit you chose... :sneaky: Some (every other?) of those Esus-E and Asus-A resolutions could be off the beat instead of always squared up. I think the bitchin' chaos solo could be a skosh shorter. And introducing it with the...

Benefits to recording guitar with an amp?

This dude doesn't even know what an amp is. I doubt he has a "mic locker" lol

I Don't Use Verses and Choruses, Good or Bad?

Indeed- that's kind of the point- a riff or something, in the place of anthemic gang vocals. Yet, still not a chorus!

Pretty sure this is why God created early Van Halen

I Don't Use Verses and Choruses, Good or Bad?

Reading the OP, I was instantly reminded of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. These bands had structure and cyclical forms, but very few of what we would consider choruses.
