I recently picked up a pair of those BM-700 chinese super cheap LDC's. I'm thinking about trying my hand at doing some mods as they were cheap enough to ruin without tears. Any tips. advice, web sites where I can find info ?

I am a big fan of the EV 308/408/468 style mics. A few of my 308's have rotting/dirty foam around the capsule. Does it really matter if I place new foam around the capsule or simply place foam inside the grill instead ? Reason I'm asking is that it looks like a standard ball screen shortened...

Looking at having my AT3035's modded and JB offers a reasonably priced service. Read many nice reports about his work and MJ doesn't work on AT's so think I'll give John a try. Anyone else ever use his stuff ?

I just picked up one of the original USA made MPA's. Got a pleasant surprise when I opened it up and found it was equipped with Yugoslavian EI ecc83 tubes. Wondering if anyone has ever looked into modding these units and if a benefit was achieved.
