feedback requested on final mix, female acoustic rock

Thanks everyone! So I'm definitely going to try panning the acoustic closer to center, i'm thinking 20/20. (and im gonna boost the bass a bit more anyway, she'll never notice ;) )

feedback requested on final mix, female acoustic rock

Could to explain a little further? I'm confused because the acoustic guitar isn't doubled. One mic on the neck, one by the bridge, panned left and right. I definitely agree with you on this. I had more kick and bass but unfortunately the client did not approve :( Thanks for the comments!

Advice on a Mix - Acoustic Rock, Female Vox

thanks for all the great comments! i'm going to try and eq the vox differently, i agree that it just doesnt sound quite right yet. i think im also going to cut a freq in the bass because i feel like the kick is getting drowned out as well. i also want the lead guitar part to stand out more...

Advice on a Mix - Acoustic Rock, Female Vox

Hey all, I was hoping to get some feedback on a mix. The artist is Keely Blaze, acoustic rock/folk. The mix includes, drums, bass, acoustic guitar, lead guitar, lead vox, and 2 background vox. Recorded in Pro Tools LE 7.1. Mixed and mastered by myself. Let me know what should be changed...

    Power pop song, need suggestions

thanks for the comments so far guys. just to clarify: 1. the complicated drum part - my friend played the original part on drums a few years back, i just took the old recording and made a drum machine part from it. i know it makes things sound "digital" 2. i dont sing, therefore no vocals...

    Power pop song, need suggestions

I'm pretty happy with the mix, but not thrilled. Here are the details: DAE: Pro Tools LE 7.1 Guitar: Gibson Les Paul Studio through Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier 100w head and Marshall 1960A Cab (I think), mic'd with an SM57 on the cone. Bass: I don't own a bass, so I used my guitar and recorded...

    Rough Draft - Metal

definitely an improvement! it sounds awesome. as a guitar player myself i tend to get over-excited on guitars also, so i understand that issue. i would still like to hear the guitars eq'd a little better. the "hiss" in the upper frequencies tires my ears out after awhile. i'd love to hear a...

    Yep, screaming.

glad to see a fellow hardcore fan on here. i'll take a more in depth listen later and comment back with suggestions, but i really like the song. can you explain your recording technique in depth?

    Not quite a year later...

on a side note, the song is awesome! would love to hear it with vocals. the synth strings, which i usually never use because of the "cheese" factor, actually fit very well into the song in my opinion. nice work! what kind of acoustic? what mics? mic pattern? amp? amp mic? would be interested to...

Help me buy a new vocal mic!

maybe boring is the wrong word, but its very transparent. there's nothing that sparkles about it in my ears, or maybe its because its my only vocal mic i have and have used for the past 4 years, so its time for a change! preamps i'm using are the digi002r pres and presonus digimax lt 8-channel...

Help me buy a new vocal mic!

Hey all, I'm looking to pick up a new vocal mic. Right now I use an AT-4040. It's a good mic, but it's a bit boring and i'm ready to upgrade. I don't have a huge budget, max out at $400. I will probably buy the mic off craigs list or ebay so that allows for a bigger price range. I'm not...

Tear this song apart for me please

sounds great! only minor adjustments that i would make if it were me. - i would adjust the kick so it cuts through better but with less "squeak" that you get from eq'ing too much. maybe a sample. - same goes with the toms, but not as much. they sound awesome, but i think they'd sound better...
