i just got hold of a tascam 488 and i figured out how to route the xlr inputs onto channels 1,2,5 and 6... i was just wondering if there is a way to route them to the other 4 channels or not?

someone told me that if you cover the eraser head, you could oh well

i heard you can cover up the eraser head with a piece of tape, and therefor achieve multitracking with a normal tape recorder. the problem is, im a newb and dont know which head the eraser head is. any help?

haha well i posted the picture before i read the previous post. i really just wanted to make surte this couldnt record, because i was planning on buying tape off ebay, but if i cant multitrack, i guess there isnt any point. thanks for clearing everything up!

i was under the feeling that it could do multitracking though, because it has a switch where you select either track 2/3 or track 1/4 what would be the point of the selector ?
