    M-Audio Mobile pre USB review

I've had one for a year and it's served it's purpose well. No problems at all. Didn't think you could use four inputs at once though, I thought it was only two? Another great thing is that it's now compatible with Pro Tools M-Powered 7. Nice. the tortoise

    Using REASON 3.0

Yeah, definately read through the supplied PDFs, they will get you up and running using the basics of the software in no time. After that, it's all trial and error. Trust me, the 'lightbulb moment' will hit you and you won't be able to stop playing with it. Once you 'get' how this app works...

    Rep Points

I don't understand them at all. I'm only a n00b, but all my posts have been honest and as informative as possible and I've had some nice feedback from some of them and yet I've yet to receive a single point. Then again, I've never given one either (I don't even know how), so maybe it's a...

Do you really buy that expensive recording software?

Way back when I knew nothing about anything, a friend of mine was round my house and said he had a copy of a program called Reason and asked if I wanted to try it out. I said sure, why not (I thought that everybody did this. Ignorance is my excuse, though a reprehensible one). I tried it out...

    Pro Tools LE

Pro Tools began as an audio editor with MIDI introduced later on. As a result, it's slightly less full of features in this respect in comparison with Logic and Cubase for instance. As an audio sequencer/editor, however, it is unsurpassed in my eyes. However, it's more than capable of even...

    Pro Tools LE

I find Pro Tools to have the easiest leaning curve of all the DAW software by far. It's logical, elegant, streamlined and the workflow is speedy and efficient. Bear in mind the limitations though (all DAW software has them); 32 audio tracks, no Plugin Delay compensation, a slightly stunted MIDI...

What do you think of this DAW?

It's certainly perfectly compatible with PTLE and should be stable and reliable. Also, with the custom built route you get a certain amount of support and garauntees. However, If you bought all those components seperately it would cost you about half the price and you could get a local...

    20 little things.

"10. Perfection is imperfection." I agree. "13. Short cuts can only give you a short cut sound." I disagree. Speedy workflow means happy clients and efficient hours. Nice post. :) the tortoise

    Your dream PC-based DAW?

Hhmm, plenty of choices to be sure, but based on my own research; Asus A8V Deluxe/A8N-SLI Motherboard - socket 939, VIA chipset AMD Athlon 64 dual core 4400+ Toledo (1MB) CPU Corsair RAM - 2GB Western Digital Raptor 10,000RPM 74GB SATA x 2 (one for OS, one for Audio) Seagate Baraccuda 7,200RPM...
