I've had a couple. First one was alright, but among my first guitars so I didn't have much experience yet. I've got a Ghostrider that is badass. They didn't make them for long, but they're a unique design for Inanez.

Individual component prices aside, tube amps are so expensive because there's a big enough market of people willing to pay that price. It's not exclusive to the tube amp industry.

I use a SansAmp Tech21 bass driver through an ART tube preamp and it sounds pretty killer. Clear, good punch, and all the edge you could want with the drive knob.
