Depends on the type of rosewood and how much you play. I have some guitars I don't clean for years, others every year. I use beeswax/orange oil, if I do a new build then or take off the strings I at least clean it.

I use the Akai EIEe pro as my interface, it has midi in out, 24bit and even a usb hub and the cost is only around a couple of hundred.

I use a Behringer board but I use a different I/O device, not the one supplied by them.

I had a M Audio Fast Track as well that had the same issues, I tried everything, finally I gave up and bought a Akai EIE Pro and everything was fine. Must be something screwy with the drivers, I was using XP at the time and both my Daws had the same issue.

It might not be an issue with the interface it could be an issue with your computer, restarting your computer to clear up something usually means something is out of whack, the interface shouldn't be the problem but you haven't mentioned anything about the computer you are using so I can't...
