The reason you're lagging (and the same reason I do) is due to a lack of processor power and/or RAM. A single full-duplex sound card would still be ideal, because if you were to use two seperate sound cards (one to play - one to record), the processor would have to switch back and forth, thus...

Recently, I have found the joys of EQing a mix so that each instrument finds its own place in the mix. Most everything seems to be fairly crisp and clear....except the BASS. I can't seem to get the bass guitar to fit in the mix. This may be from poorly recording it or not being able to EQ it...
