    Recording all channels

n-track might let you specify "any" channel (or channel 0) for playback. Cubase does "any", and my old Master Tracks (Gawd, am I dating myself) does the channel 0 thing. It's not immediately obvious that that's how you need to handle multi-channel playback in those programs --- so mebbe...

What's your latency offset? Higher than your latency??? Might have to check your device AND your Cubase prefs to find out. What happens if you change to one of the non-ASIO drivers?

O-KAY!!! Got my J-Station, now what???

Thanks, c & gidge, I use a Delta 66. First pass through the presets, really liked the blues amp model. I'll go back and try the blackface (Twin Reverb?) and the rest cstockdale recommended. And I'll check out the j-forums and j-edit. J-edit 1.2 was on the disc they included. Hey, are these...

    Oktava mic's from GC

I have a 319 from GC - it's a couple years old, paid $150. I'm very pleased with it - if I need a darker vocal than I get from my Baby Bottle or C-1, I'll use the 319. I have matched MC-012 hypers from the Sound Room - they are my x-y mics of choice. I've been very pleased with the choir...

    NoWhereRadio

If you have an HR window open while you're downloading on dialup, it can REALLY slow you down - HR has a lot of up-n-down going on, for some reason. My NWR downloads take half the time if I remember to close my HR windows first.

Nope - USB 1.1s have more dropouts, can't do 24/96, can't do as many channels at once. FiWi is probably as good as PCI, so is USB 2.0 (in theory - it's gotta share bandwidth with a lot of other devices, though) --- but there are still only a couple of FiWi interfaces, and only one USB 2.0 that...

    I seek the Holy Stereo...

A good wave editor with convert mono to stereo. Dunno if Cake's got a built-in. I think there's a shareware version of CoolEdit that'll do it if you need it.

Hurricane Isabel comming, Studio or Family pics?

Hey, if I was OTBR's age, I wouldn't be caring much about the pix either. Kids spend a lotta time looking forward. Gr'ups spend a lotta time looking backward. I'm not so convinced the WE'RE the ones who have it right.

Or skip the USB version altogether and get something for FiWi or USB 2.0 (I think Edirol has something). I wouldn't buy the crop of USB 1.1 audio interfaces out there now - they're already obsolete. And tend to misbehave a lot. I expect that in my bass players, but not my software...:D

    Recording all channels

It sounded like the channel info is in his (single) track. I don't think range will matter. As to piano being on everything, I think that's just cos it's the default patch. So he's sending on 15 different channels, but they're all piano. Hence my comment about building the patch messages.

Holy Crap! This BBS has a SONGWRITING FORUM?!?!

Ive known you for forever, But there's a girl I don't know at all, I might have known you better, But all I see is wall Our words ran like river water, But never river deep, I know the way, you go and you stay, But what's in your heart, you keep Would you tell me: What do you dream of...

    Recording all channels

Cubase has a function where you can "explode" a multi-channel track to a set of tracks, one per channel. Dunno if n-track does that, though. OR: If you don't need the separate tracks, but just need to keep the instuments separate, you can record patch selections for each channel on separate...
