    Small Basement Studio

Thank you Michael Riley... Can anyone else give some feedback? Specifically, what would be a good way to finish the walls and ceiling? Should I sheetrock? Leave them open? Sheetrock the walls and leave the ceiling open (cloud?) or vise-versa? While I would like some soundproofing, I'm more...

    Small Basement Studio

Hello All, I am planning a small basement recording space/rehearsal space. I've attached a jpeg w/ a drawing of what the space will look like, right now there is only the exterior walls and chimney. The approximate tracking room size will be 11' x 14'6" and the 'control room' size will be 5' x...

Using Sennheiser or Radio Shack tom mics w/ RIMS mounts

A while back I had asked if anyone had come up with a way of mounting these types of microphones to drums that have RIMS mounts. I did get a few reponses, but none were a solution that I was happy with. So I put the 'ol thinking cap on and went to work. What I realized is the RIMS bracket...

Using The Radioshack Tom Mics w/ RIMS Mounts

Anyone have a way of clipping these things onto to RIMS mounts? They don't fit on like they would for the hoop of the drum. I assume this is a problem for anyone using the Sennheiser 604's aswell. Anyone have any suggestions besides duct tape? Thanks. Brian

    Indie Production - Radio Play?

BrettB, You are very correct. I have a friend who works for a well known radio promotion co. who said that to get significant play even at the college radio level, you usually have to pay. After some of the stories he's told me, I'm starting to wonder how the mafia can't be involved in this...

Blow out price on a mic Harvey Reccomended $30

Harvey, You list the "Audio Technica Kick/Tom" mic for both rack and floor toms. Do you mean the one that looks like this: http://www.audiotechnica.com/prodpro/profiles/KP_DRUMS.html Or are you taking about the unbranded AT Pro 25 version that was floating around a few weeks ago? Thanks. Brian

    ASUS P4T-E(Intel 850) vs P4B266(Intel 845)???

Emeric, Thanks for the quick reply. I'm looking to use this in conjunction with two Hoontech C-Ports (which seem to work best with asus mb's) for upto 16 channels of analog inputs at a time. I doubt track totals would go above 24 per song and I'd like to have some power to add effects, but...

    ASUS P4T-E(Intel 850) vs P4B266(Intel 845)???

Looking at the cost difference between these two Mobo's (as well as cost of DDR vs RDRAM) at pricewatch.com, my opinion is that it isn't that much of a difference anymore. That being said, I have a couple of questions... 1) It seems like the right choice would be the P4T-E because of the...

Rookie Hoontech (C-Port) User With Questions

Ola, Sorry for the late reply, just wanted to say thanks for the info. I'm planning on getting N-tracks soon, I tried the free version and it seems to have a fairly quick learning curve. Brian

Rookie Hoontech (C-Port) User With Questions

Hey all, Sorry this is longwinded, but I was hoping someone may be able to answer a few questions... I just got the system and am currently fiddling around w/ it using Cakewalk 9 and a tape deck hooked up to two of the eight inputs on the ADC&DAC 2000 box (Don't ask why, but I don't have...

I'm sort of new here, but I'm surprised Dennis Chambers wasn't mentioned.
