    Please help, drumtracks anyone?

Hey guys. I have a home studio and I'm an endorsed drummer, have toured and done studio/session stuff. I play most styles exept stuff with double kick/metal. Just wondered if anyone needs any drum tracks? I've recently taken up more singing work and I miss drumming in the studio, I'm willing to...

    Vocal Lozenges?

I agree with you moresound, They only help to mask it. You need to be a good singer and have your voice built up, like a muscle. but if you have been singing for a longtime, doing a lot of dates or maybe your recording and doing lots of takes, then it does help to keep you on reserve for a bit...

What goes on an EP compared to an LP?

An EP is a bit of a novelty release, for those who don't have enough songs or don't want to put out enough to make an LP. EP is Extended Play and LP is Long Play. an EP ussually has about 4 tracks whereas an album will have as many as 10 to maybe even 20! EP's aren't as popular these days but...

    Stereo vs Mono vocal recording

I've always been told/taught that the lead vox should be panned dead center, along with the bass, snare and kick...the rest is to taste. So I don't see the point in recording one voice in stereo. I'd say mono is fine. You can always thicken/widen it slightly or double track and do a little panning.

New lyrics I'm working on - kinda stuck

Write something about the outcome!, something like 'where it all leads, only fate can tell...but in the end it sends us all to our own personal hell''...? something like that! I like songs that dont follow the 'verse bridge chorus' thing...maybe because I'm not good enough to always hit that...

Do you remember your first songs ?

Some fun stuff here guys. I remember the first song I ever wrote was called 'My Girlfriend is a Werewolf'. A jokey track that pretty much explains itself. 'Yaknow baby somethings just not right, your hairy and you howl all night, your breath smells of rotting flesh, your laundry is a hairy mess'...

    Check out this NAGRA!!!

That is so cool. I have so much respect for guys who still use all analog. Such a warmth to it. If i thought I would know how to use it all in a million years, I'd give it a go! lol.

How many drum mics do you record with

4 all the way! the Glyn Johns method...its all you need! Unless you have a massive kit. In which case more like 10! but if its your average set up....4 is perfect.
