    Thought's on G&L Guitars

I loved it and have to get back there to pick it up. Aside from playing great and sounding great it was gorgous.

    Thought's on G&L Guitars

Came across a G&L Strat a few weeks ago. A USA made Legacy. I have to say I couldn't put it down. I was very impressed. Did some research when I got home and found it was a company started by Leo Fender and George Fullerton. What are your thoughts on these guitars? I think I will be picking...

    Silent recording and speaker simulation

thanks for the suggestions. I have heard of the impulses thing, but don't know much about them. I will check it out. My only issue with it would be mainly that my understanding is that it is added after you record. It would be nice to hear it at the same time with the cab simulation. But I...

    Silent recording and speaker simulation

Like many, blasting my amp at all hours of the night is not an option. When recording, I usually plan for when I have the house to myself so I can crank my amp and mic it. But for composing and practicing, I still like to get a good tone. Right now, for playing at night I am pleased with the...

Mixing a single guitar track, tricks

Thanks for all the feedback. I was a bit surprised that pretty much no one liked it. The only issue I found was that depending on the millisecond offset, certain notes would blend loosig the chorus effect. For instance, (going by memory, the times could be wrong) 15 milliseconds and it seemed...

Mixing a single guitar track, tricks

Hi, A coworker of mine let me in on how he mixes his single guitar band. He told me his method is very common and I was surprised I hadn't heard of it before. I was curious how many of you do this, and if you had reasons why or why not. They record the guitar to a single wave file. He then...

A Mesa so easy to dial in even Light might like it!

A Mesa so easy to dial in even Light might like it!

Screw it. I bought the combo and love it! It's the tone I want! Killer crunch. Awesome cleans. Great reverb. I fits me and my style prefectly. I think for those of you who hate Mesa because of the Rectifier series, you should to take one of these for a spin. Totally different animal. My only...

    Bugera?

Ditto on Carvin. Very underated amps. With regard to the Bugera. They do sound very good. And the cleans are much better then you will find on the Peavey. HOWEVER, the build quality is very poor. Next time you are near one, go up to it and just wiggle one of the knobs. Every one I have ever...

    Mesa Boogie Express 5:50 2 x 12" -- thoughts?

I love the cleans on the express series. Had a hard time getting a good overdrive tone, or atleast one that fit my style.

The problem I have with the combos are they are so dang blasted heavy. I have a Mark IV short head and a 1x12, and it is easy to lug around. A Mark IV combo would be a bear. The Mark V combo I have to believe would be heavier.

While I get your point, Mesa has gone ahead and taken it to the next level. You get great cleans and IMO better then modified Marshall drive. Besides, it's not Marshall's take anyway. If it where Marshall's take it wouldn't need to be modified!

I have played both in person. And I will give Carvin credit. They are way underated. But the V3 is not in this league!

A Mesa so easy to dial in even Light might like it!

I tried the 1x12 combo version of one of these overe the weekend http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/electradyne/electradyne.html It blew me away. By far the easiest Mesa to dial in I have ever tried. I honestly think Light might possibly like this one. No joking. This is Mesa's take on...
