    Interlude

Very cool Bulls - drums and synth sound really in your face and powerful, which I think something like this needs. No issues with the synth EQing to me. Enjoyed it!

    Christmas Song

Hi Trip, thanks for listening and sorry about the delay replying. Glad it generally sounded ok - it was a quick effort so not surprised about any rough edges. Re. the bass, I was playing some Smashing Pumpkins with my band last year and kinda liked how the bass on Cherub Rock was a bit loose...

    Christmas Song

Ha, thanks guys. I'm not a huge fan of traditionally Christmassy songs, so it's kinda one on my own terms. I tried to avoid the usual tropes, but thought the Christmas links may have come through a bit more clearly. Firstly, it's all built around a sample of a choir singing God Rest Ye Merry...

Merry Christmas from the Po family.

Very nice Bubba, particularly enjoyed how both your vocals came together. Happy Christmas yer arse to all the Po's :)

Your voice sounds very nice in this man. You got some good pipes. Happy Christmas :)

    Christmas Song

Thanks for listening Jimi. I think it's probably done as far as the arrangement's concerned. I'm struggling a bit for time currently and nobody wants to be working on a Christmas song come January! There's already a vocal on, though through a vocoder...and sitting very much in the mix...

    Christmas Song

Had a rare afternoon free last Saturday and so for the first time this year attempted some recording. Actually the first since another Christmas song last year. This is as far as I got with the time I had, don't know how it sounds to anyone. A dystopian Christmas to one and all! :)...

Early Mix of a New song

Hey Nola, Sounds like a good start. I like the tones and separation on everything and it all meshes together well. I could hear a simple bass part playing a steady drone of eighth notes to be honest. I think that would help carry the song nicely. Fully fleshed out vocals would be good too...

    New Song - Windmill

Ha, I also thought it was a female vocal until reading the thread. I think it's because I expect it from you as you often make these songs with your girlfriend, so I didn't consciously think about I think the looseness of the timing between the two vocal parts works ok - it kind of fits the...

    My Friend Ben

Really cool Trip. Good song, great lyrics and everything in the mix sounds well recorded and balanced. The panned palm mutes in the verse really work well. Nothing strikes me as needing addressing :)

New Song - West Texas Girl

Nice song Chili. Good energy and that twangy guitar part is really cool. I think it maybe needs something to balance out the spread as it's a little left panned heavy with the riff on that side. Maybe the ringing guitar part and/or the solo could be panned over to the right and the former...

Crop Circles with Nick and Dave

Really nice performances all round you guys. I agree the snare is a touch too loud as is the acoustic guitar riff at around 1:49, the guitar at 3:06 is a little clunky, but otherwise this is good work as usual. Good separation too, I like the stereo spread.

    Mix of a Live song

Hey, had chance to listen before you took the link down Nola, but not chance to comment. I guess it depends what your intention is for the mix. If it's as a standalone song or amongst other live songs then I guess it's fine as a 'document' of the song. If you're planning on placing it amongst...

Starting Final Mixes Song 7-A Heart Of Thanks

Ok, I'll bite. I think this is streets ahead of what you were posting six months ago and I think your vocals are sounding miles better without that ozzyfier thing on them. Everything's a lot more open. It's not my thing stylistically, but in terms of the mix I think it's sounding pretty good...

    Starving Vegan #3

Hey trip, I held back from the last thread as I thought a third mix was coming. This is tons better than the first one I think - much more open and more space everywhere. Guitar tone sounds cool, the bass part works really well, so if it's one you went back to then sounds like a good decision...
