What is going on with Access Music

I am owning a used Virus TI and found that the oficial Virus Forum is almost dead. Also the infected org shows low activity. Is the Virus no current synth anymore? Some people complain, that there is no reaction and no software update anymore for more than 2 years now. Any news?

    SuperSone microphones

Just for those who read this old article: The order went into Nirvana. No delivery to germany was intended. I wonder why? I went with some Rode's afterwards.

Recently a german engineer doing his own synth designs presented some opened Behringers and showed , waht there is behind and how cheap they are built. This not done for eternaty :-) The recommendation was, to buy 3 of them as rack version to have one working for prodcution, one as replacement...

    DIY Impedance Control; Condenser Mic

Doesn't that change the impedance related to the output resitor in the MIC? ... and causes deviation of the frequency curve? According to my knowledge it is in fac the low impedance of the MIC which pulls down the resitance of the whole line - even if the mixing console comes with a higher...

    How Sound Works (In Rooms)

Just one note: Also small rooms benefit from diffusion if done correctly. One can use a 2D-Diffusor to quicker scatter the waves. This is a second class solution though. Absorbtion should be used instead and adding artficial diffusion with reflections. In a german forum a user discribed this...

Using a smart phone to mix midi channels

Hi all, is there a way to connect blue tooth based midi controllers like AKAI (some have that) to a smart phone and mix it and then send it forward to USB to a PC or USB2MIDI device to drive old MIDI gear? I need a solution to connect those MIDI Controllers and mix the information to one...

Dual boot for legacy music software ?

Typically Win7 can successfully host W2000 programs, but I would prefer XP. And it seems to be best to keep an old PC from someting around 2011 to run XP effectively. This way it does not occupy the new PC but works in cooperation.

    Poly-cylindrical diffuser sound treatment

I recently had the chance to do some measurements with such diffusors in Karlsruhe. It showed that 2D-diffusors are an expensive - but well solution for small rooms. In many cases they are the only solutions for this. One guy showed up with a diffusor taken from an engineer's website. It is the...

Room acoustics and the studio desk/carpet

A desk is no problem if you place the monitors that way, that mirrowed first reflections do not reach the ear. Absorbers behind the montors do not have much effort because the monitors do not emit such frequencies to the backwad diection which could be treated by common thins absorbers. Side...
