Re: alright
You may be missing the point of the Lise 6 delay unit, then. If you've been useing the DM4 for a while, then you know that it's not just a "one trick pony," and the other units are kinda the same...do you think you may ever want more than one type of delay? Or chorus, for that...

Not really made to go direct, but they'd work well with a sansamp or a pod.
If you like the Line 6 Distortion Modeler, you may just want to check out the "delay modeler" and the "modulation modeler"
I have the distortion modeler and I love it, so I will be getting the other two. At $250 a peice, this falls well below your $1000 mark, and they each have 16 "models" to...
I've seen a couble, but none with a fixed bridge, so I didn't really even bother. I can't deal with the frustrations of tuneing a floyd, so I won't use a guitar wit a bridge that I can't secure with a couple of springs. That and I avoid all things Peavey since I haven't used a peavey amp I...
The problem I have with "multi fx" boxes like the Digischmucks and Zooms I've seen is that there is a delay between when you kick the pedal and when the program changes. That, and banking up and down sucks. Imagine you're on stage and at a critical point in a song you go to change fx and there...
I love my new(ish) line 6 distortion modeler. It kicks the ass off of any of the digitech RPpickanumbers that I've used. But, of course, it only does distortion. There are other models that deal with delay and chorus/flange/phase etc. separately. I'll be grabbing those next  . They are...
They are a bit pricey, but I found a couple in a local shop and they play themselves!!!
These guitars play better than any PRS I've played, but like I said, they cost $1200 and up.

I have learned, thru trial and many errors, as well as advice on this board that gates kinda suck in recording. As for drums, Vox is right in saying take the leakage and all. If you're recording yer own band, you know the sound you're looking for is usually the sound you get live, when everyone...
Harvey, sorry to add to the barrage of questions, but...
...as far as acoustic guitar is concerned, as long as that's the example we're working with, would it be a good idea to mic the guitar from a couple of feet away, as you suggest, and add a near-feild mic focusing on the freq's you wish to...
Yeah, I had one of those once. I never understood why they built 'em like that, though. I loved the phaser, but I needed an outboard EQ cuz the tone controls on the amp just didn't quite cut it for me. It sounded a little sterile to me, but boy was it LOUD!!! Anyway, it got me through a year of...
Don't sacrifice you're mids
As far as stomp boxes go, I just got a line 6 distortion modeller and I just love it. You can dial in the sounds of a bunch of different old boxes, and it stores 4 programs at a time (8 with an expression pedal) and the programs sound deadly close to the originals...
But the Quality HAS wandered. All these "catalog stores" Where you walk in off the street and get some amazing deal on an American Standard or it's ilk are selling sub-standard grade C guitars at a bargain basement price.
I thought I was getting a great deal on my $700 Lone Star strad at...
