Hey - I write a poem about urine entitled "A Bifurcated Stream" which garnered light praised until a urologist came online and explained it. Everyone else thought it was a nice pastoral piece ...
go for it.
I'm just plain lazy and once I plant my butt, get my guitar and recording mics situated, I don't want to be getting up and down. I had an iPad, so its now mounted on an old light stand to my right. Not only can I start and stop recording without adjusting all the gear, but can also quickly and...
Your voice has an interesting timbre and sound. I think there's a lot to be learned to improve the sound, dynamics, etc which a decent voice instructor could help with, if you wanted to move from a 'talking' style to singing. Just my $.02
Any thoughts on the sound quality I'm getting from this setup? I'm just developing my ear, so any observations or suggestions are appreciated.
Disclaimer: I make no claims about being a singer lol. That's my son's provenance. I'm basically looking to improve the sound enviroment. the singer is...
It's difficult to hear the quality of your voice because of the recording. I don't consider myself a singer, but my son learned the love of singing from me, and he's now professional quality. He also spent 15 years of his life training and studying as well. It takes work. Mostly it will depend...

Before I retired about three years ago, we thought we might sell the house, so began cleaning out stuff we no longer used. Having changed our minds, we're now in the process of filling it back up again...
The shelves are built in, and I'd like to keep them. I'm thinking pretty hard about...
After a little straightening up in the room - not much *grin* - I used the "clap test" to find the deader part of the room, as it is currently. There were two, on opposite ends of the room, mostly I believe because there were larger open areas on the sides, which may have permitted reflections...
Can anyone, from experience, recommend a good iPad app which will allow me to control LIVE 9 Lite from the recording room? This ability will affect how I design my home studio. I've seen several out, but it's difficult to assess their claims without owning them. Don't mind paying the price for...
Reflection question - if I use one end of the large room for mixing, how much difficulty would it cause having the weight machine, shown in photo, at the other end of the room?
