After some more experimentation and keeping the levels going into the Distressor low, I actually do get some distortion when I have the Attack at 0, but it goes away when I turn it to say 5 or so. Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks for your replies fellas.
Now that I'm done freaking out....I think this is what I read that made me think it was my Distressor (even though this is about the RNC):::::::::
From FMR:
At the risk of sounding too esoteric and philosophical, there are many universal laws that are, many...
I was recording clean guitars with a Jaguar going to a Great River, being very careful not to get anywhere near clipping on that, and then to the distressor, which I just turned up the input enough to get it to gently ride the signal (a little leveling). I made sure that when it hit my...
Man, I'm listening to some guitar tracks I recorded a month ago or so and I didn't catch the distortion when I was tracking...not the good kind either. I remember I was using the Distressor as a limiter after the pre. I'm pretty darned sure it was the Distressor that is causing the...
Just talked to Mark and he said that the unbalanced TS only applies to the inputs, not the outputs. He said that the manual states that they will not work was just trying to not confuse people about the different cables (to just use one type). So it looks like the cables I am using are...
I'm using a RNC as a "mastering" limiter and I'm trying to hook up an RNC to a Rosetta AD 2 channel converter. What I've got so far is I'm coming out of a Roland 1880 via AUX LR (RCA) into the RNC (1/4" TS). This is correct so far.
Now the RNC manual says "Hooking up the RNC to balanced...
Well, I tried the Monitor outs and they are the same as the Main Outs. A 90% improvement. The sound is barely noticeable. Switching it to the Monitor outs should have been apparent to me, I guess I was "stuck" on using the Headphone outs to go to the headphone amp....I didn't even think about...
I wonder if certain hard drives just put out more or different frequencies that are picked up by other amps.
I am using a Mogami TRS cable to the Behringer, and I've tried others and it's all the same. I am coming out of the Headphone Out on the Roland. I am going to try and move my rack and...
It is secured in my Roland 1880. I don't know about it being grounded to the 1880 if that's what you mean? I plug everything in my lil studio into one outlet that is grounded (so the ground indicator says on the power strip when I plugged it in). I do have everything running through an ACTUAL...
When I hit the STOP button, it sounds for one second (I know this has to do with the hard drive). Always the same pitch. And when I play a song it will go off and on.
I loaded a bunch of songs onto the drive, and it is kind of a pain to trade out the internal hard drive on the 1880, so I...
I just installed a new hard drive in my Roland 1880 and I now notice that I am getting hard drive sounds (very high pitched) coming through my Behringer headphone amp. It's funny because when I plug in headphones directly to the 1880, the sounds are not there. It's only when I plug it into the...
thats the thing, i thought the fender jazz pickups were specifically "noisless" (Samarium Cobalt Noiseless Jazz Bass pickups) as opposed to the older ones.
