    drum advice?

He did indeed haha! I hope that comment didn't come across as ungrateful, because I'm anything but... Any help people can give me can only be a good thing, even if it's telling me to buy more shit so my recordings don't suck ;-) We'll see how it comes out on the day. The kit sounds pretty damn...

    drum advice?

In the interests of learning as much as possible, why is that misinformation? And in dintymoore's defence, he was one of the few people who didn't just tell me to "buy more mics" - which doesn't help me at all.

    drum advice?

Thanks everybody. At the moment using more than two mics just isn't an option. As cheap as some mics are, they're still more than I can afford. Combine that with the fact that my interface only accepts two inputs and you'll see my problem. I will upgrade, but it won't be any time soon. Thanks...

    drum advice?

I would've thought the tuning went without saying :-) It's punk/hardcore,so I'm definitely going to want the kick and snare to be pretty prominent. I guess my best bet is to just experiment as much as possible!

    drum advice?

I'm going to be putting some drums down on Sunday with very limited resources and wondered if you could give me a little advice. The only equipment available to me is an SM57 and an Octava MK-219, both going into a Line 6 Toneport UX2 and then Reaper. I've been thinking, and the best setup in my...

    Ableton question

Thanks. I figured it out now, anyway - all I had to do was fiddle with the soundcard settings and suddenly I could do it.

    Ableton question

Hi all, it's been a while since I posted on here but I have a question and I remembered how helpful people here have been in the past, so I thought I'd ask :) I've just bought a Line6 TonePort UX2 and have been merrily playing with it and the Lite version of Ableton Live that comes with it. The...

    A Musical Journey

Ok, got there in the end :) I really like that first song, it's a great opener, and the transition into the second song works really well. I like the bassline in that second song as well, it's really simple but it works really well, the guitars and drums just seem to drift around it. Really...

    A Musical Journey

Only just started listening, I agree with the comments about the vocals seeing buried. I like this first song so far - I'll let you know more when I'm done.

New band I am working with

Second mix sounds miles better through my headphones, although they're pretty bass heavy so it's sometimes hard to tell. The instruments sound like they're not fighting for space as much as in the first mix. And the hiss seems to have mostly vanished, which is good. Not a bad drum sound at all...

Best sounding album you have ever heard?

Having just listened to it for the first time in years, I'm going to add Dire Straits - Making Movies. Again, for me it's the drums. They're big and loud in all the right places, without overpowering the rest of the instrumentation. Awesome.

    RUSH Cover, YyZ

Good god man, that is awesome. I reckon I refer this to the version on Guitar Hero 2 :D Two thumbs way, way up.

    Rode NT-5's as overheads

Cheers man :) I can't listen to it now but I'll definitely check that out in the morning. Don't suppose you've ever used the Studio Projects C4 as overheads? I'm looking at either them or the Rodes. jaybriggs84, sorry to derail your thread. You can have it back now.
