Can it really be called racist if it's this inclusive?

Looking at my post-count, you'll see that although I may have been a member for fifteen years, I read more than I post. It seems time to move on. No hard feelings, I just don't have the appetite to argue racism/politics. Best wishes everyone! Maybe I'll check back in during 2039!

Can it really be called racist if it's this inclusive?

I come to music forums to escape the hatred and divisiveness (on both sides). Can we please stick to music?

Show your guitar, bass, acoustic, any stringed instrument harem!

I tend to like things that you don't see every day. I'm not that into modern guitars or things that I see all the time. I've been buying guitars since about 1988, when I was delivering newspapers, and have bought/sold/traded for a long time. I like unique sounds, so I try to use different...

Maybe. I don't watch a lot of that genre.

    Jinah tremolo system.

Those came on the Westone Series 10 guitars IIRC.

Making money off idle studio space!?

If people are willing to pay $4000 worth of gear, that's wonderful. At that level, most people would just be buying gear.

Most people arent going to sit throiugh a 1 minute intro. I would cut that out.

SPOTIFY normalization, anyone has experience with that?

One thing you should also consider doing would be to compare your finished track to similar tracks being played by Spotify.

How were most famouse hit tracks mastered

Nothing compares to smooth glaze, it's unobtanium, maybe someday.

How were most famouse hit tracks mastered

Smooth Glaze is a TDM only plug-in developed by Doug Sax and Sonic Solutions. It's no longer sold and runs only on Digital Coprp's Alpha Server (and requires the long-discontinued SS-428x conversion system). It's used in all the top mastering studios, and Abbey Road has a modified version to...

Where have all the acoustic drums gone ?

So much music sounds the same these days because everyone uses the same drum samples, synth samples, guitar modelers, etc. I have a reasonably small space, but I bought a kit that would work well in what I have. I have a 60s Rogers kit with the 20" kick, some K's and an Acrolite I found for $5...

    Are PreAmps a marketing myth?

These days, any interface you buy is going to have perfectly usable preamps. Out of the lower budget interfaces (Focusrite, Arturia, U-Audio, SSL), I wonder if one will sound noticeably better or worse, and all should be fine. For a long time, I would mix and match preamps (UA, API, etc.)...

    in hindsight...rack stuff comparison-itis

I think for me it was just some things, like the SDE-1000, sound good and aren't worth selling for low money.

    in hindsight...rack stuff comparison-itis

Most of my rack gear is high end but I still use a pair of DBX 160A compressors. One I paid $100 for on eBay, and the other was $30 at a flea market, and it is gold, which I've never seen. I also have a Roland SDE-1000 and would like to have another. It cost about $100.
