Hi Folks... Hope someone can help me with this issue.
Is it possible to pick an internal drum pattern and then record it onto a couple of the tracks?
I can't seem to do anything but play along to the pattern and then have it triggered after recording the guitar and vocal etc.
It sounds...
Just thought I'd add that I got the S125 stage condenser today...and again this is a seriously good mic. Very strong output and very well built with excellent pop resistance....very smooth and clear as a bell too...highly recommended.... US$96.....Gasp!!!
Has anyone else had a positive reaction to the Superlux mics.... just bought a minty S241 off ebay for not a lot of cash.
This is a seriously well built and very nice mic... reminds me of the Beyer 930.
Some say it is the same as the Cad E70 but it seems to have different specs.
On the...

Hi Folks... I have the chance to pick up one of these MXL M3 mics for about $80.
Anyone got one and can give me a sense of what to expect....
They seem pretty rare and originally they were advertised as having a sound like a tube mic.
Did they achieve the goal of making an SS mic sound like a...
Does anyone know where to source a decent 22mm / 3/4inch capsule.
There seem to be lots of mics out there using similar Chinese capsules whether they be high or low end so I figure there must be someplace where these are available quite cheaply.
I don't need the housing just the capsule...
Anyone know about the m-audio pulsar ll .... where I can get a replacement capsule or recommend a different capsule.
I'm assuming it's a very available Chinese part that is used for 50 other mics.
Mines gone south so I wanted a replacement / alternative.
There's not a lot out there about this one so.... Anyone had any experience with it?
It seems it might be a discontinued predecessor to the E965 except that it also runs on battery.
Also got a pad and HPF.
Just a couple of handy hints for anyone out there lucky enough to have an M-Audio Sputnik.
I left my Sputnik with a tech friend over Christmas so he could record with it while I was away.
Also I gave him a spare USA voltage power supply unit and asked if he could switch it to Aussie voltage...
A recent listing on eBay.... AT-Pro37
Gives new meaning to the idea of Bang for the Buck.... It sold for $15
One can only hope they don't own a puppy or kitten.

Just picked one up on eBay because I thought it might be comparable to the 535eb. It'll take a few days to get here so I thought I'd ask around.
I'm guessing it's the predecessor to the 535EB.... but it runs on AA battery as well as phantom. All I know is that it's from the late eighties.

I was reading an old thread of Hairy Larry's called "Undiscovered mic bargains" where he mentioned a couple of the old Realistic mics.
Michael Joly and others had joined in and chased a couple of these old Shure rebadged items. It's a good thread and worth reading.
I saw a Realistic on ebay...
I see the GXL 3000 is going out the door very cheaply, does anyone know about this mic. It gets a similar description to the way people describe the often praised CAD M179. Does it share quality DNA with the M179 or is it a poor cousin ???

Tascam or Alesis firewire ???
I've been using an entry level 2 channel mic pre with a PCI card and would like to move up to a firewire interface with at least 4 or even 8 decent mic pres.
I've seen a couple of things like the TASCAM FW-1804 and the Alesis IO units and I think Phonic and Yamaha...
It seems that a while back many people were comparing mics like the SP-C1 to the U87 ...much to the dismay of purists or folks who actually had a U87 and disagreed with that outrageous suggestion. Obviously the U87 is a mic that is continually used as a benchmark for makers and consumers...
