    Recording the album!

Your suggestion is a good one. But I don't think the material is worth it. Besides I want that Do-It-Yourselfer Pride. So I can say yeah man I recorded that. But thanks for the suggestion.

My freaky trip on Cool Edit!!!

Wow man! I never really messed around with this much. But due to bordom I recorded some stuff. I then started browsing around the features of cool edit. I didn't take long until the multiple features started to take effect on me. I could feel a high coming on. Suddenly I started making up...

    Recording the album!

Ok I got the previously mentioned clip up. You can download it at http://members.xoom.com/Mickj83/song.zip Since there is no way in hell that will stream I got saved as a zip. Its only 3% smaller but eh. I would have made a cool page but I havent re-installed my HTML editors. It is about 2MB...

    Recording the album!

I just reformated my HD. I have plenty of room. I have had success in the past with recording to computer. I guess I could put some of the stuff up. As a matter of fact I have a previous recording from the tape that was scrapped. I have it saved as a Real Audio. The only problem is it is a...

    Recording the album!

I have faith in the equipment and I have managed to get a decent sound on it before. That Eurodesk packs a lotta bang for the buck. The reason we trashed the early tape was a few errors here and there. Only thing really wrong sound wise was the drums. They were very weak and could not be heard.

    Recording the album!

After listening over the previous trys at a demo tape my band has decided to scrap all prior material. Not to mention that there has been some volitility in the band. Supposedly now I am the guitarist as opposed to the singer. But anyhow. So we are gonna record this thing. All we have to work...

    That cleared everything up thanks.

    90 Degrees from confusion...

I was reading some faqs on Harmonycentral. A lot of them mentioned Coincidental Pairs and all kinds of microphone placements. Is all this stuff really important? Are these measures recomended or is it better to just go at it freestyle?

    Great Expectations?

My computer is a 100Mhz Pentium with 46MB of RAM, a 3.1GB IDE HD. My soundcard is a SB AWE-64. What should I expect from this thing? Is it remotely capable of being used as a DAW? Is it worth upgrading or should I just build a new one if I want a DAW? What would you recomend for a basic (But...

    Impedance woes...

I was at Shure's webpage reading up on some stuff. ( http://www.shure.com/app-impedance.html ). I always thought that impedance matching was important. But they say here that the load should have a greater impedance than the source. These are the guys at Shure so I am not gonna argue. But that...

    A dB explaination...

I think I see where your getting with that. Can it be simplified more? An analogy might help. But thanks none the less.

In search of an un-biased answer...

Do you mean "Use high bias for musical aapplications. The only time I would use normal bias is for recording speech or something."? Or am I just misreading that?

    A dB explaination...

I have tried reading what exactly a decible is. But everyting I read was rather confusing. Is there a more simple answer to what a decible is? If so what is it?

In search of an un-biased answer...

Whats the deal with this Bias stuff on tapes. I am pretty sure what it is. Correct me if I'm wrong. Biasing is when you combine a high frequency signal (Above the range of human hearing) with whatever you are recording to tape. (This part I'm not to sure on.)This causes better high frequency...
