Who the hell is using Fostek!?!?!?!!?!?!?

No shit. My teenage daughter did a flying butt slam onto my VF160. I put it on the loveseat in our loft when I'm tracking. At first about half of the faders didn't work, but I opened it up and straightened some parts out that were bent. It works just fine now.

    Monitoring headphone?

I don't think any one tries to dispute it. Some of us just CAN'T use anything other than headphones for one reason or another. I can only work on my stuff late Saturday night/ early Sunday morning once the wife and kids are asleep. If I get complaints that an UN-amplified electric guitar is too...

Muddy mixes and the Windows Media Player EQ

I've been doing it this way for a couple of years now. What I've found is that if I can get it to sound reasonably well on my work computer through the Logitech headphones it will translate reasonably well to most other sources. I can also easily compare my mixes to others. Zakk Wyldes guitars...

Muddy mixes and the Windows Media Player EQ

I'm doing my mixes through these crappy Nady headphones(yeah, no mixing in headphones) with an insanely hyped high end. I then bring a CD to work to test the mix on my work PC through some $2 Logitech headphones. With my latest batch of songs I've not been able to get rid of the mud. If I use...

    Your expierence with Epi Guitars . . . . . .

I had a Epi LP Gothic Studio a few years ago. It played and sounded about the same as the Gibson LP Studio I had in the early 90's. Nice guitar. My only complaint, and the reason I got rid of it, was that it had no whammy bar.

VF-160 Can hard drive be replaced?

Page 116 of the manual covers backing up to CD. I've had my VF160 for over 3 years. It came with a CD drive installed. Apparently, the earlier ones didn't, but one can be installed.

    Ibanez Edge versus Floyd Rose

So I'm looking for a new guitar. I've never played a newer Ibanez with the Edge tremelo. It struck me as odd that you just stick the bar in the little hole and it stays there. It just flops around too. The sales guy said I didn't want to lock it parallel to the strings. I said, "Oh, but I do." I...

2007 B.C. Rich NJ Neck Thru Warlock first, and last, impressions

The bolt on models are only cheaper because they are 2005 models or earlier. The NJ line went neck thru in 2006 anything before that that wasn't a special edition was bolt on. I paid $300 US for mine 3 years ago. The 2007 models are going for $600 US.

2007 B.C. Rich NJ Neck Thru Warlock first, and last, impressions

I just got off of the phone with Larry from Beat Street. He is having FedEx come out and pick this piece of shit up and giving me a full refund. Yay, Larry! Fuck B.C. Rich! (Did I actually say that?) That looks exactly like my bass. Go ahead. It's a good one.

    I need a new $500 guitar

Here's what I NEED: 1. Neck through or set neck with NO heel. I need easy access to all of the frets. 2. 24 frets. preferably jumbo or extra large. 3. Floyd Rose tremelo bridge. Prefer Original Floyd, but licensed will do. 3. High output humbucker(s). Not necessarily active. Don't really need...

2007 B.C. Rich NJ Neck Thru Warlock first, and last, impressions

I said I’d post this in another thread, so here you go: I’ll start this off by saying that I have a 22 year relationship with B. C. Rich guitars. Over the years I have owned 11 of them. The 2007 Neck Thru Warlock I received last night just might be the last. I was stoked when the box arrived...

Why do people say Warlock guitars are fragile?

I'm a bit of a Warlock aficionado. I've played almost nothing but Warlocks since 1985(I've had a Mockingbird, Ironbird, ST3 and an Epi LP). My next Warlock, a 2007 Neck Thru, is due to arrive tomorrow. The angles and curves of the body hold it securely between my chest and right leg. I don't...
