The bisquit style is much more pleasing to the ears. Imagine putting an acoustic guitar through an EQ pedal and slamming one of the mid sliders. You would get this nasally tone. Thats what a spider reso sounds like. Its cool for adding a few little slide licks to a song, but thats about it.

My vote is for the Fender Super Champ XD. Its all tube and can do about every tone you want. Too many amps are one trick pony's. I should know, I have had a ton. For $300 new it's a steal.

80's MIJ strats are among some of the best ever made. Having said that, remember there are lemons of all models in all years. Never buy a guitar without first playing it.

If you are serious, get the Brett Manning vocal course. He's a real pro and the CD program is worth every penny.
