Hi, Can anyone recommend a good Compressor / Limiter that wont cost me a fortune? Cheers! Mari

    Getting my wires crossed!

I try to keep things neat by labelling and colour coding everything but it gets very messy every-so-often, particularly when I get a new piece of gear. I get all excited and plug cables in everywhere! Or if something doesn't work, I start ripping out cables behind the rack to find the problem. I...

    Behringer gear

Re: Re: Behringer gear Ha, deadly! I know, i know, its getting a bit old. As one of the culprits responsible for starting 'yet another Behringer thread', I apologise :) Hey, is there any chance we could all get done for slander?

    Vocal Miking Techniques...problem.

Thanks for the replies everyone, appreciate it. crazydoc... yes, your right, she seems to lack volume in the lower register. A certain amount of it is intentional dynamics but I tried getting her to belt out stuff whilst singing in the lower register and she wasn't able to. Her voice could...

    Vocal Miking Techniques...problem.

Hey all, just a quick question. I was recording a female vocalist today. She's got a superb voice but lacks control. I'm finding it really difficult to record her. She's really low at parts in the song but then she gets really loud! The result is a weak signal and a really strong signal at...

    Studio Monitor question

Sorry, I'd have to disagree ;) I've got Behringer Truths, which I'm about to change due to repeated technical faults. Also, you dont want speakers that sound nice, you want speakers that sound true. Behringer "Truths" simply dont. The bass is huge for a start, even with the optional -6dB of...

What sort of seating do you have in your studio?

My studio is pretty small so I have a two seater couch which would really only fit one person, two executive office chairs (really comfortable!) and a bar stool (the guitarists seem to like this). Oh, and two EV S200 speakers! People are always sitting on them.

    Backing Tracks...

Yep, that works. Dont know why I didnt think of it before. I just automatically thought floppy disk = computer not Korg. Just not used to Midi... Thanks by the way...

Behringer and the hits keep coming...

Thomann are giving me a new speaker! Way hey! They're gonna pay the postage too so I suppose its working out okay. At last. Awful hassle though. When I get it I'm gonna sell the pair and get something better...

    "Kazaa" full of viruses

I've downloaded a good few audio files, whats the deal with them?

    Backing Tracks...

I'm getting the hang of it at last! Its not that difficult really, just takes a bit of getting used to. I'm actually pleasantly surprised at how flexible MIDI is. Jake-owa, sorry for not getting back sooner, i've been working like a lunatic! Their backing tracks are loaded onto a Korg i5M...

    Microphone purchase Audio Technica AT4040

I bought an AT4040 when I was in the States a few months back. Its a brilliant mike, particularly for vocals although I've recorded violin and harmonica on it too with great results. I've also used an AT 4033 in the past. Equally nice. I think someone mentioned it earlier but there is only...

Okay... Give me dirt on Alesis and Behringer.

Please please please DO NOT buy Behringer Truth speakers. It'd be a huge mistake. I dont know if you've read my thread about my experience with these speakers. I'm still going through the hassle of it all. They are simply not reliable. I'm just about to send the faulty one back to the suppliers...
