I want to record some pop tunes for young female singer. I record in Acid Pro, and was wondering if anyone knows where i might obtain samples of current popular pop music without the vocals, so you can just import them into acid and have the singer record thier vocals.

I'v been looking at Plextor cdrw drives. Anyone have any info on External units that they make. I notice the external units i'v seen talk about " firewire" hookup. Im not sure what "firewire" is. Will these units work ok with regular PC setups , via usb connection?

I like the Multi-Band Compression in Sonar 3.0, but when i use it backgroud noise ( hiss ) is introduced to the recording. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this? ( i'm using the " boost 6db all bands" preset )

I'm recording my tracks in PA9. I'm confussed about how to go about saving the original unprocessed tracks, so that I have them to revert to if i screw something up , or the final mix sounds like shit. Copy them?? Thanks.
