I would like some ideas on the best sound possible for recording drums with a single mic running strait into the computer (note:if needed i can run it through an amp if that goes with your idea)

i am having problems getting my guitar tracks to sound "powerful"... i have done several things like recording mulitple tracks of the same riff, but with different guitars (which i know is done by the "pro's") but that doesnt seem to work well, i guess it has something to do with my settings...

I have been working with cool edit pro for over a year... and i have always had to settle with weak very unpowerful bass recordings - the db's are to high when i turn up my lows, and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on perfecting this - i would be greatful.

The answer is very simple... instead of plugging your mic and/or whatever you have running to your system into the mic postion... plug it into the spot labled "line in"... the only problem with doing so (or so i've had) is that it only records into the left side of the track - what i have done...
