"It was used by Billy Cobham, who apparently jammed with some huge names. Google his name for a bio. "
I think you should be required to say The Billy Cobham if you're going to use his name in a sentence. Mahavishnu?!! Miles?!! Herbie?!!
Congrats on the sweet find.
i'm interested in this question as well. i normally collect samples using my mindisc recorder and small stereo condenser. i'd love to find a solid state memory stereo recorder with a mic input. transferring samples unto my DAW would be simple (as opposed to the real time transfer that a...
i think the utility program is just for assigning midi note numbers to the keypads. you'll need to have another program which can accept midi input to play the samples (such as reason/rebirth). great controller though once you get it working. good luck!
if you would like to use a loop or midi sequence from reason in cubase as a wav you can to go to file->export and export the sequence as a wav file. this essentially mixes down the reason sequence and converts all the events/voices into an audio track. once you have that you can just pop it...
i wouldn't go with the A8N-SLI, unless you plan on running high end games or video editing on the machine as well. get the regular A8N like whattaguy suggested.
get a motherboard with SATA raid built into the chipset (try the nvidia 4 chipset). then get yourself 2 120gb sata drives for your audio storage and mirror them.
i also recommend an amd athlon 64 with the 939 socket type. reason being is that the dual core processors will be 939 compatable...
i think i have an average size mellon (but with more hair then most) and my akg240s sit very snugly. i wear them for 8 hours straight at work with no ear or head rub. highly recommended. i'm going to get the k271s when i get a few extra $$.
thanks for info guys. i want 16 direct outs to eventually feed 2 chained firepods. mmmmm tasty. if there are any other suggestions besides the 16 direct outs to feed the 2 hungry firepods i'd love to hear um. hands down the A&H over the soundcrafts in that range huh?
My berry mixer ate it. The power supply died and they do not sell them as replacements . So I can either spend $200 to hire an electronics wiz to repair it, or I can spend $1000 and punch it up a notch. If you had $1000 to spend on a mixer with the only requirement being that it needs to...
