Drum levels when bouncing from BFD2 to Pro tools?????

Hi.....That is a good tip thank you. My problem is that I find it hard to commit to a drum sequence quickly. So, that's why I drag the midi over to Pt's on an instrument track and then edit from there. Also, in the process of writing/producing a song my drum sequence will change a lot; so...

Whos is your favorite current Producer?

Miroslav....you nailed it. Alot of bands or artists seek out particular producers to achieve a certain sound they have. Good producers are master communicators, understand in-depth the recording and mixing processes and are musicians themselves. New bands that are controlled by their label or...

Recording to DAW...then to cassette mix

That's great but I was asking Will25 the question; not you...... Also, this is the Noob section so maybe he hadn't thought of using the DAW. Maybe he could use a different process to get what he needs done. I also appreciate that you follow the threads as closely as you do to know who Will25 is...

Recording to DAW...then to cassette mix

What kind of DAW do you have? Why not just do all your recording through there?

Horrible Tone, where am I going wrong?

Just for the record............The MIM Squier strat is not the problem. I have owned many USA, MIM, MIC, etc...strats and there's not much difference provided you have an amp or simulator to go through. I use Amplitube 3 with my 90's Squier Strat and I get killer tones.

    Mixing Contemporary Country.......

Hi, I'm a songwriter/producer doing mostly contemporary country pop music at the moment (Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, etc...) I looking for some input for how people are mixing their songs in this genre. Are you compressing your bass tracks alot? Are your hook electric rhythm guitars set low...

Quality of recording for potential sale

Good Point Alan..... I spent 10 yrs songwriting/producing at a full blown studio near Boston. While I was there I worked with many engineers and I learned a tremendous amount about the whole recording process. I watched, listened and asked questions. After that I built my own home project...

Panning a three piece rock band?

Ahhhhh, I guess I wasn't paying attention. I didn't realize it was a live recording. Not my forte..............

Panning a three piece rock band?

If you want the Kick drum and bass to live in the same space and create a pocket I would say put the kick and bass right down the middle. Then stack your rhythm guitars and pan them wide left an right. If you have Acoustic guitars do the same. Although, you could pan the acoustic guitars not...

    Sloppy drums!

Again, I totally agree. I was just trying to offer a solution. It's definitely better for the drummer work out the kinks in his playing (by practicing with a click, etc..). I guess I was assuming that they wanted this EP done quickly; so, elastic audio would be a quick option....

    Sloppy drums!

Right....I never even considered that. Truth be told, I use BFD2 for my drums so that issue doesn't come up for me.....

    Sloppy drums!

I hear you.....But Elastic Audio is pretty slick. You can groove quantize and make things sound amazingly good and natural.........
