Yeah and the guitarist seems to use a dual or triple rectifier which really is not the best possible amp for that kind of music imo. But good to know that the sound is not dependent on the gear that they're using.
Also i agree that the drums sounds a lot the same minus the reverb of course...
It's hard to explain, but if you look at this clip:
The kick drum for example seems to be more silent and yeah the snare doesn't have reverb in it obviously. Also the guitar seems to drown in the mix and not pierce through the mix like in the first clip that i posted. All in all the mix...
What i'm talking about is the live sound of the late 80's and early 90's.
Examples:
For some reason the live sound these days definitely doesn't sound the same and i might sound ignorant when i ask this, but are the line arrays and IEM to blame? Does a live sound like in the examples i gave...
I see, i wonder if someone has made a vst out of those drum sounds.
Also ratt's detonator album's drum sound would be interesting and i heard that they used drum machines on that one too.
Edit: Mike Shipley mixed both of detonator and rev it up records. And you mentioned the edge of a broken...
Sorry to necro this thread back to the book of the living, but you mentioned the D-drum module here, which clavia ddrum module exactly vixen used on that album? I might have to get one for myself too.
Ah. I think the current Accelerator cards offer the same thing so i'll probably get the twin and then later if necessary expand the amount of DSP with the cards.
Ty guise ((((:
Absolutely, and i personally think that the UAD plugs are the most realistic sounding on the market, afterall they have made some of the most legendary hardware limiters, pre's etc on the market.
Another option would be to settle with the Twin first as it has all the inputs that i need and then get few additional PCIe cards or the satellite thingie whatever it was again.
All the apollo interfaces are included with a decent bundle of plugins which surely will get you started, probably...
Well in that case i think it's going to be Apollo Twin.
And CoolCat, the reason being that the on a hardware side the two are the same pretty much. Only difference being in the amount of mic inputs and the amount of DSP. I'm not sure if i will need DSP that much even if most of the plugin usage...
Heyaa,
I've decided to take the road of the UAD plugins and therefore get the interface from them also which would be the Apollo line in that case. What i wanted to ask is that will the Apollo Twin Duo USB with 2 mic inputs be enough if i'm recording by miking the guitars and vocals (ofc)...
You're right, it was kinda clunky question, but just speculating as usual. :D The right gear for a certain kind of music is also important, i remember that i was actually about to get an engl amp and thank god i did not, that thing is more suitable for death and black metal i think. Same thing...
