I'm ripping my hair out here trying to figure out why Cool Edit Pro isn't picking up a signal from my mic when its plugged into the mic/instr 1 plug. I've set up Cool Edit in the options>settings listing to read 1/2 delta inputs, nothing is muted, phantom power is engaged. What am i missing...

I've narrowed my 2 choices for monitor speakers down to Event PS5 or JBL LSR25P, unless someone has suggestion's on something else in this price range. Does anybody have any feedback on pro's and con's between these monitors? thanks

Hello, I'm using my "old school" Tascam Porta One as a pre-amp for recording. Anybody else? Suggestions?

I'm new to recording but I'm using a really old Tascam Porta One as my pre-amp. Anyone familiar with the Porta One? Could this be responsible for a bad recording? And finally, if using the Porta One as a pre-amp is a bad idea, any suggestions on a reletively cheap/decent one to purchase?
