    I need expert microphone help!!!!

... ok, 2 things, just to respond to on guys post, the mic is not "silent" when shes in it, it IS picking her up. but you gotta understand, its NOT picking her up to the extent of boosting her volume above a set of un-mic'ed acoustic drums played lightly. second, i'm smart enough to know NOT...

    I need expert microphone help!!!!

.. i think most of you are over analyzing this situation. Richard Monroe is right about everything, i just need a mic that works. the system we are using is NOT the problem, we have the equipment to BLAST, but we are not, i'm talking breaking it down simple even down to a small head, a mic...

    Most under-rate/under-exposed guitarist...

... my pick for guitarist is Kenny Vaughn, the lead guitarist for Marty Stuart. he is amazing. but like someone on here said, Hendrix is not, he could make an aweful noise, but music? dont think so....BUT, then again. he got rich and famous didnt he? good for him. also, like someone else...

    Shure SM-57

... ranjam, the PG57 does have a different element than the SM. i talked to Shure because i read that the PGs were just a cheaper made version of the SMs, but not so. the PGs are TOTALLY different mics. not cheap made and totally different sound. for me i prefer the pg57 over the sm57 anyday...

    shure PG57

... well, its a matter of opinion, i've used Shure SM57's professionally and in the studio, and now, my ONLY choice is the Shure PG57. in my opinion the Shure PG57 has a better sound for mic'ing a guitar amp, not too bad for vocals either if need be. i never have really liked the SM57, but the...

    I need expert microphone help!!!!

... Richard Monroe. you nailed it. FINALLY someone who knows something and understands what i'm trying to say. she sounds normal, like a female. she does have some lower "sounding" notes, but the overtones are high frequencies that the mics just DO NOT pick up. in other words, most mics are...

    I need expert microphone help!!!!

... dintymoore, the mics pick her up, just dont "amplify" like everyone else, she's way off in the background like u got her barely turned on. makes it basically impossible to play anything live except for accoustic without drums. and the accoustics unplugged. i have checked everything, i...

    I need expert microphone help!!!!

... its not the singer. alot of the "club band musicians" say to modulate till shes singing hard enough to be picked up. she's not quiet. a singer shouldnt have to SCREAM into a mic. its traditional country, not screaming rock. she sings naturally, there has to be mics made to pick up natural...

    I need expert microphone help!!!!

live yeah its for live performance. i mean preamp i dont think would help, the mics are picking up GREAT. just no her. so i need something with the range to reach the extreme high frequencies and the extreme lows, she's not high or low, but thats the EQ frequencies that actually make the mic...

    Compression Pedal???

i was just wondering what the purpose of a compression pedal would be...i know it is used for sustain, but i've heard it does more and been told that my picking style would sound even better with a compression pedal... so what's a compression pedal do? for a lead guitarist? thanks, Kevin Allen
