Howdy, I have a Dean Markley Icon guitar equipped with a Piezo pickup. This requires that I have a charged 9v battery in the guitar for it to work right. I want to disable the Piezo, because it sounds like crap, I never use it, and I'm sick of having to change the 9v battery just to play it...

I have a bit of cash to spend on a vocal mic and a preamp. I want a harsh grit vocal sound that doesn't hiss when there is silence. I don't want the mic to distort when I scream into it, I just want a very high level of warmth. Basically what I am asking is what is the most distorted yet...
