check out Izotope.Its fucking scrumptious. no need for miking anything.... If you want a nice heavy tone, check through the presets... i think one is called heavy drive tube or something...Naturally, i would suggest tweak it to your liking.. but believe me, trash is a beast.

right on, i appreciate the feedback here.... what i am curious about is you mention smashing the drums to oblivion a few times... do you find that is necessary, as I have been trying to avoid throwing compression on the drums at all, except to keep the snare consistent... I have experimented...

i find that weed is all you need to write a good song...it makes the mind work far more efficiently.... chronic i find helps to view oneself and the world around more subjectively... in a studio environment smoke some weed. In a band situation, drop some acid, trip your head off and see where...

yea, the snare is a little up front no doubt, but in keeping with the synthetic nature of the song, aside from maybe lowering the volume i wouldn't over tweak it or attempt to humanize it... simplicity can be good for feel in a lot of instances.
