    Ugly Guitars

One of my favorite guitars is my DeArmond Jet Star Sp. It's a knockoff of a Guild Thunderbird. http://www.1800instruments.com/images/Jetstar.jpg It's pretty ugly, but it was only $85 brand new and it plays really nice. Pickups actually aren't bad either.

    Most diverse studio amp

Has anyone checked out the Fender Princeton Recording Amp? http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-Pro-Tube-Princeton-Recording-Amp?sku=483714 It's got the built-in attenuator thing going, for power tube overdrive a low volumes. I saw one at a store but didn't have time to dick around...

    Pod Xt v. BlackBox v. DigiTech ....

I have a J-Station, and I used it exclusively for a few years when my recording space was the guest bedroom before we moved to where we live now with the finished basement. I like the sounds I've put down with it. I do have to throw in, however, that I probably wouldn't go back to it for...

    I suck don't I? :/

I'd advise you to lock yourself in a room with no furniture or wall decorations, a few pots of black coffee and listen to the My War album by Black Flag over and over at high volume for about 36 hours. All you need is a slight change of headspace and that'll do it.

whys joe perry get all the fame?

Steve & Joe were the "Toxic Twins", and the others were just kinda the not-as-interesting 3. I dunno, like the Mick & Keef thing mentioned above, they're just kinda the attention-grabbing duo. I'd throw Axl & Slash (circa 86-91) in that mix too.

    Eastwood Joey Leone Signature

I'd really like someone who owns a few Eastwoods to review them. Their reissue of the old Ampeg Upright bass blows my mind. I dig the Mosrite Ventures/Univox Hi-flyer clones too. This brand would have a sealed deal with me if they put out a copy of the old Vox Phantom 12-string.

Can organ-like sounds be created with a MicroKorg?

If I have my shit straight, and I very well may not, the MicroKorg has either the same, or a very similar sound generating engine as the Korg MS2000, which I own one of. The Korg MS2000 has fairly accurate, yet very cool sounding "Jazz Organ"esque, "Organ Bass", and "Combo Organ"esque presets...

Nice tube combo amps under $500?

That's weird. From what the listing says, somebody took the electronics of the 30W 1x12 and stuck it in the cab of the 50W 2x12. Either that or the guy is wrong and that's just the 50W 2x12 model. If it is what he says it is, you'll basically be getting the amp I've had for a long time and...

Nice tube combo amps under $500?

If you're also looking in the used market, you might want to check out a Crate Vintage Club 30 or 50. I have had a VC3112 (30W, 1 12" spkr) since about 96, and I love it. Even folks who turn their nose up at Crates on general principle are impressed by this amp, it's sorta known as the Crate...

For the love of God, SOMEONE help me tune my 12 string guitar!

I got my 12-string back in either January or February, and it's been tuned to concert pitch the entire time with no ill effects. It's an Ibanez too, one of the new "Sage" series ones.

Going from pick to fingers (aka A call for help)

Hey there esteemed colleagues. In order to expand my horizons and break out of the powerchord+shitty blues scale licks GnR/NY Dolls style rut I've been in for the last, oh, 3/4 decade at least, I've decided to throw down a little dough and get a cheapo (as is par for course if you review my...

    rechargeable 9v (for effects)

I've got 9 pedals running on a 1-Spot (2 of the 5-pedal adapters linked), the only time there's extra noise is when I turn a bunch of those pedals, which are noisy themselves, on.

    I second getting the 1-Spot.

    Acrylic guitars :(

I've messed around with a reissue Dan Armstrongs, and it's pretty awesome. A friend of mine has a Univox Lucy, which is a Dan Armstrong copy, and he likes it a lot. However, the acrylic thing also seems to be a marketing gimmick for cheap-o brands like Galveston to sell unplayable guitars that...
