I too I'm still rocking ProTools.
With everything being subscription based nowadays, it just makes sense to get a software that has been around since the 90's for a monthly price. There is also the capability of learning online at YouTube too if you come across some issues.

I have the following setup.
1. Apollo Twin from Universal Audio for recording guitar and bass. Super easy to use and there are tons of videos on Youtube from connection to setups. Their plugins are also killer!
2. Pro Tools Cloud Subscription
