Climb The Wall - alternative/pop/rock mix

Phenomenal vocals. The hard-panned hi-hat sounds unnatural to me. Personally, I would back off the overall compression of the entire mix, but I assume heavily compressed is what you were going for with this genre of music. I guess I am just old fashioned. Great song!

Like A Stone - Deathmetal cover

The high register guitar noodle part (hope that makes sense) is right up the middle with the vocal and it is pretty high in the mix creating too much competition for that space (to my ears). Maybe turn it down a bit and pull it over to one side slightly. Also, is that scratching noise at the...

On Tascam 414mkII, will mixing one track down to digital at a time add noise?

Yes, sending multiple tracks individually (one at a time) into your DAW, to be mixed later in the DAW, has the potential for increased noise vs. mixing the tracks on the Tascam first and then sending a single stereo mix to the DAW. Whatever potential line noise exists with each bounce to the...

    "Radio Disney" vocals

Professional vocalist. Vocal booth. Single track. Autotune. Lots of compression. High in the mix.

How I built a large following on SoundCloud

Welcome to the new world of media where people clamor for and get paid in views, likes, and followers. And by get paid I mean get their egos stroked but don't actual make a living wage. Just as the Twitter account that follows 500,000 other Twitter accounts has 500,000 followers of their...

Is it possible to completely remove vocals from an mp3?

Probably need more information on what you are trying to accomplish. As other posters have indicated, the quality of vocal removal you are trying to achieve really determines the answer to your question. What exactly are you trying to do with the song by removing the vocals?

    Which Hi Hats?

I don't disagree. I have the big ass 2002 24" ride and I love it. Still remember saving all my money up for a couple months and the day I bought it. Never had any problems with it and I'd never part with it. But that crash... It's the reason why I am paranoid about buying certain things...

    Which Hi Hats?

All of what Greg_L already said above and I'd like to add a plug for Sabian AAX cymbals/hats if you are looking specifically for something bright that cuts through. I use AAX hi-hats and love them. Never used Paiste hats, but... I have both an AAX 16" crash and a 2002 16" crash; the Paiste...

    Drunk Driver

I really liked this. The lyrics, the melody, all of it. Can't imagine your DUI friend liked it though.

Looking for beta testers for our new mastering suite

PS - You need to be running Studio One Professional or Producer for 3rd party VST support. Won't work in artist, which might have been what you were experiencing. I do not have personal experience with Artist but imagine that was the issue if it was a copy that came bundled with your equipment.
