    Amp Advice Wanted

The MarkIV from boogie is one of the best amps ever made in my opinion!! I own 2 of them plus a mkiic+ (well actually I sold one of my 4's to my best friend because he was hounding me for it!!) What gets me is that alot of the newer players think that boogie only makes the recto series which in...

    Amp Advice Wanted

Elco: Your very Welcome!! I have tried just about everything in my quest for tone !! LOL I used to use two amps hooked up that way a long time ago(direct out of one amp into the effects return of another) I am now using all Mesa Gear now but I have experimented with the POD! Have fun...

    Amp Advice Wanted

If you plugged your POD into the return of an effects loop you will bypass the preamp section and your amp will be running wide open. By wide open, I mean if your amp is rated at 100 watts, all 100 watts of power will be running!! Your POD would now controll the volume. Most people do this...

    Amp Advice Wanted

Before you go and spend more money, did you try using your pod like a distortion box? You can plug your guitar into the POD and then plug the pod into the marshall. Set your marshall to be as clean as possible, You should be able to get a decent sound at any volume. If this isnt the direction...

Guhlenn: Whats up! I play with a very processed sound. Its almost violin like but with a lot of distortion(musical distortion not thrashy!!) With this particular sound, I am able to play long sustained notes with a lot of vibrato plus you can pick fast and hear every note. It also sounds...

Yeah your right DragonWorks! But a good sounding amp will make you play better because you will be inspired more! also I find that you have to learn how to play different amps. Just to give you an example, I cant play certain licks on a Marshall that I can on a Boogie! Just my 2 cents worth!!

Line6 POD - Is it worth it ?

I hear you Six!! I was just giving out some examples!! I really beleive that whatever works for the Individual is the right choice!! By the way, not to sound like a hypocrite but I use tube amps for my guitar sound!! but I do think the POD is a cool peice of gear!! Peace!!!

Line6 POD - Is it worth it ?

Actually Six, you can use the POD in front of a tube amp! It's sort of like a glorified distortion box with effects!! It doesnt kill the the tube characteristics either and it does sound good! You also have the added eq section of an amp. As far as recording goes, it sounds great if you mic it...

Line6 POD - Is it worth it ?

I would think that only a session player would need an assortment of amps to get a variety of tones for different styles of music/sessions. For the rest of us, I think that a good lead tone/Rhythm and clean should be good enough! But some of us guitarist are gear hounds and would love to own...

Hard2Hear: I have been hearing great things about the cybertwin. I'll have to get my lazy butt down to the music store and check one out. ;-) My boogie amps do have a distinct sound to them but you can get alot of different tones out of them (when you tweak them of course!) . I love them and...

Mesa Boogie MKIIC+ or Mesa Boogie MKIV either amp sounds amazing with just a guitar/amp and there are infinite tonal possibilities by using the eq or class A / simulclass options. by the way, in my humble opinion, I dont like the digital amps. I think they are closer then ever to re-creating a...

Line6 POD - Is it worth it ?

I have heard the POD pro but I dont think that the added features/extra $200 is worth the money! Also I have heard from some people that there are some glitches with the pro unit that line 6 is working on fixing! Just my opinion!

Line6 POD - Is it worth it ?

I am a tube nut myself!! I use Mesa Boogie amps for my guitar recordings but I have heard some great tones that were recorded with the POD through a tube amp. When you slam the front end of an amp with the POD and crank it, Its pretty hard to tell your using Modeling Technology ( I said...

Line6 POD - Is it worth it ?

In my experiance, I have used software effects on a guitar tracks after it was recorded without any problems! 9 out of 10 times I prefer to use my outboard gear(because I own a lexicon pcm80) but the software plug ins are very powerfull and they are getting better all the time!

Line6 POD - Is it worth it ?

I think the POD is a fantastic peice of gear and I personally hate direct recording! The thing is, If you like the convieniance of direct recording , you have the option of doing so and it does it well!. What I'm surprised at is no one on this thread mentioned that you can send the POD's signal...
