Rautio on Gearslutz was quite satisfied with C214: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/new-product-alert/199821-akg-c-214-a.html

Id like to add some high end converters to my setup...

Based on your other gear I would stay with Deltas. They are a sufficient partner to your other gear. Remember that what is influencing quality of the sound most is first acoustic treatment of the room, next microphones and preamp and in the end used converters. If you want any sound upgrade buy...

Mic preamp sub $700 that is GREAT for bass too

I have SPL Goldmike 9844 and my experience is that its characteristic is quite narrow and definitelly not thick. Maybe heights are little hyped. It works well for acoustic instruments such as guitar but for vocals it lacks those fat mids. On the other hand it is worthy of its price and...

Id like to add some high end converters to my setup...

Cheap ribbons does not mean bad sound. I paid only 75 EUR for T.Bone RB100 and it was one the best investments to my studio. Its sound is IMO quite mature.

    Cheaper alternative to Shure SM7 / EV RE20 ?

Sennheiser MD421 but it is little brighter than SM7. In Europe Senny is cheaper, maybe not in the States.

Microphone Suggestions For Me (read inside for details)

For vocals used ADK CE or add some more bucks and get a new one. Awesome mike. It has u47 style sound, not harsh or bright. I have one and everyone who listens to its records likes it. As a workhorse check also some condensers if you have SM57 already. If you are on the limited budget CAD...
