Can you tell me the difference between a CD Burner and a CD-R or a CD-RW? As far as I've read here it's important to have a CD Burner when recording into the PC. I have the HP cd-writer 9100 series, is that enough??? Thanks!!!

If i'm recording into my pc with a beautiful state of the art sound card with its lovely Breakout Box and i'm not recording vocals.... do i still need a mixer????????? (We are 2 basses, one guitar, a piano and the drum machine)
