sorry no pics, these guys are cosmetically just "good". they are engraved #2 and #3 and have the name of a production house on them.
handled quite a bit, you can see the brass wearing thru in parts.
but compared a more fresh looking beyer m88tg lying around, they sound nearly identical. so i...
i was pretty vague, wasnt i?
beats are done, and i think i am only looking to get a verse or two of vocals out of it, and we have a 1/2 day, so winging it and seeing what happens should be plenty.
thanks all.
ok, say i got someone coming in to help with a track... doing vocals, rapping, or whatever. and lets just say, ive never done this before.
um, how do you prep the artist.. what can i expect out of the whole thing?
he knows whats going on, has done this a million times. but me: never. just so...
for your $400 spent, you arent gonna see much difference. if you used that $400 for say a used API module, or spent $400 on room treatments, or got a used baby blue bottle, you will see some dramatic improvement.
making your own cables is the best price/performance upgrade in terms of cables...
yea, well mr. aea r84! we aint all so lucky as you!
anyway, me of school that prefers condenser out near the kick (3 feet in front and 3 feet up) and dynamic 6 feet up and out 6 feet. phasing problems? just adjust in DAW.
so take that!
i was thinking this punksoholics was jokin here.. right?
drums sound pretty good to me. sound boring... PROCESS... pick aux out the b1, smash it up and mix that back in.
prolly good enough. your room sounds decent enough for business. better than mine no doubt... for a home recording your...
ok, gotta go with the grain and say it sucks on vocals. the top end is pretty grainy. combine that with the presence peak and you get a very edgy mic.
however, its a good mic to get something to really CUT through in a mix. but i wouldnt use it on more than one instrument, as i would be afraid...
noise with digital is just silly low. so dont feel back tracking at really low levels and raising the level later. no biggie.
your average speaker has a dynamic range of 85db. your average computer system has WAY more dynamic range than that. lots of room to fuck up.
exactly. and make sure to get the rack that is compatible with the new API clones. then you can for $1500 have 2 channels of neveish and 2 of apiesque.
that be CHEAP
oh and something about seventh circle. they make a very respected product. it is up there in the, good as anything else, its just a matter of taste level.
one good way to approach the 7th circle stuff is to buy an assembled rack and an assembled pre and another one that you do yourself.
this...

$150 BIN bitches.
buy it. for $75 a channel for a real tube pre? get it...
oh and another thing, the DI circuit on them is pretty cool too. great for REAMPING drums to give them some MEAT. i was comparing my $40 rp105 with the line amps in my spl charisma (i think it originally was like a $400 piece) and they sound kinda similar.
if you want some agressiveness on...
yea, f- all ya. bellari is cool.
but no. no . nooo way pay $350 for an rp220. they go on ebay for WAY less. like $175-$200. then upgrade the pop out opamps for another $20 or so. then you are styling. oh dont forget the tubes.
and if you want to go crazy, you can swap out the transformers for...
i no like reason. not flexible enough for me. and rewire has some troubles in all the setups i have worked with.
do you need a drum machine for portability reasons? cause if you already have a computer, a software sampler or something like the $25 ritmo plug will go WAY further than most drum...
whoa whoa whoa... slow down.
slow down.
is there a reason why you want a mixer with digital outputs?
also, 8 mics for a drum set is a bit much for the average home recorder. you can probably make ends meet with 4. and by make ends meet, it might yeild better recordings to keep things simple...
