Sounds like you need an eq pedal first and foremost. Fuzz pedals don't let you do metal chugging and pinch harmonics well but sound pretty good. And, distortion pedals sound like distortion pedals... :rolleyes:. Best tell us what you want out of this distortion pedal.

Carvin gets their speakers from Celestion if I'm not mistaken. So, if they say it sounds like a V30 chances are it is a relabeled V30 or something very very close.

I have an X100B head and a mutt 4 x 12. I use the low gain input exclusively. The high gain input loses something. I scoop the eq a bit as my amp/cab seems to be mid heavy. I keep the gain on 4 and the master around 11 with the boost on. The only thing it lacks is the sparkle of a great amp...

just in case this isn't a spamtard, I have built a BYOC pedal. here are my comments: 1) the instructions were vague but correct. 2) a great fuzz pedal. I put in just the mods that worked with my sound. 3) I'll probably build one again.

I have 2 Sunn 610L cabs, each has six ten inch speakers, one cabinet has a bass port, one does not, and I replaced all speakers with uniform Eminence speakers. The speaker cabinet with the bass port is far and away my favorite. Much less "stopped up" as in when you have a cold sounding. Not...
