creative solution
maybe with a program like drumagog instead of sound replacing immediately, you could export to MIDI (i heard it can do that)...from there you can quantize and then use good samples from the original performance...?

what i do
it works for me if I just record over the same track in "sound on sound" mode and just use my foot (or tweek any other controllers) as it records... it usually records the events in a separate piano roll over the original performance, so they remain separated still...
give it a whirl

After bouncing all my tracks to clips, there is an instant of unbearable static at spots where two clips were combined (even when I used crossfades)... but when I play the project's files in an outside program, the audio plays fine. Why is sonar doing this??
dying for an answer!

thanks chad..i agree with too much ambience on the snare i think. to answer your question - it's not a banjo or ebow..it's actually 4 simple motif parts arppegiating - they are all keyboard sounds but i messed around with the LFOs and also shortened note lengths on a few of them to make them...
any other suggestions for adding punch to the drums other than fixing the kick EQ? in defense of the v-session kit, i think it's capable of a much more dynamic performance - in this genre, however, a dynamic drum performance tends to seem out of place - referencing cds by bands such as Jimmy...
snare
thanks for the suggestions fprod...i think i agree with you about the snare. you are right about what sound replacement is. i took a slightly different approach - instead of micing any drums, i used roland's v-drums and recorded all the drums as MIDI data so I could sequence it all and...
mics
like i said it was a battle against sound isolation (or my lack thereof). the drums are all sound replaced with my roland TD-10 v-session module and Motif rack. the electric guitars are mostly through the pod pro (s/pdif), though occasionally mic'd with an sm57 through my 30w mesa...
hey kids
so not long ago I was lambasted in another forum after some of my home recordings that are on my CD from a few years ago were listened to... i figured after I got aquainted with my new setup and had a song to share, this forum would be the first place to visit (with the hope that some...
This may sound rediculous but for some reason I cannot find the solution anywhere in the manual!
I'm in the track pane, goofing around and after selecting an audio track's number I right click and select to "show only selected tracks"...now all i see is that track. Then i decide to "hide" the...
posting is fun
uh, thanks for the defense adam - i was wondering why all this came at me as well...
anyway, i love this board, i have been a lurker for a few months...i just made a healthy investment and i'm psyched to put up some new songs when they're finished, and just figrued i'd eat the...
the cher effect
i don't recall it being used on more than one song (the first track)...
[2 years ago on the recordings i never intended to share with you]
