Are you talking MIDI interface or an onboard synth? I'll presuming the former. I came to the conclusion that I'd much rather not have my MIDI interface on my sound card but instead have a dedicated MIDI interface. That way I can update my MIDI interface and keep my sound card, and vice versa...
