    DrStawl adds a vocal track

Good job doc! This song seems like a form of abstract art and certainly tells and interesting story. How did you end up writing that song? Did it just pop into your mind? or was there preparation?

    Cakewalk and Hard Drive Performance

I have a fairly good system, but not a great hard disk. PIII 500 128 RAM I should just buy a new hard disk :) but im on a tight budget, so would i benefit that much if i upgraded the hard disk?

    My first MP3 POST!!!!!!!!

I loved the mix! That's my style of music. Good job on musicianship. The melody on the guitar was well defined and the drums and percussion had some good ring to it. Keep up the good work.

    Another Mix of Love Lode

Nice mix! It great to see a guy that can do stuff with the equipment he owns! There are people down here where I live that have kick ass equipment but turn out shitty recordings -- basically because they are retarted. Anyways, song wise I love it! Melodies were great, nice present bass, and nice...

a special song to all of my friends...

Whats the best way to mic a fart? Would an SM57 do a good job? I bet ya you could really put on some nice effects for a fart!

    tear it apart!

Ok boys, I had to post my school project at the current URL where the song is :( It'll be down as soon as it is evaluated...you can still get the song there, its in the root dir and its called time.zip F*ck these damn projects, they waste time, valuable recording time :)

    tear it apart!

I used a Shure SM-57 for micing the guitar. The shure went direct into the sound card which is an SB Live. I used a strat with a fender princeton chorus. The mix was placed on axis with the center of the speaker cone and placed about 1 inch. Ya, the vocals and real drums will sweeten it up...

a special song to all of my friends...

    tear it apart!

Okay cooperman, here's the story..the drums were a standard midi file I found on a zip disk of mine. I knew I needed an easy going but subtle hip hop kinda beat, so I based the song partially on this type of beat. The samples are soundfont. I can give you the sfbank if you need it. I do usually...

    tear it apart!

Here's a little mix for all of you! No vocals or strong melody YET! Ive tracked and sequenced 2 guitars, drums, bass, and strings. Real drums are going on this saturday. Anyways, critique the mix on EQ, volume, any shitty usage of effects? Thanks guys. http://www.idrive.com/dpuzak/ Song is...

    Cakewalk and Hard Drive Performance

Correct me if I am wrong, but Cakewalk does benefit from faster seek times and RPM's of hard disks right? My hard drive is an older model and i think its runs at about 4000-5000 RPM...will this result in a decrease in performance?

    Cakewalk 9 Reviews wanted

Try reconfiguring you playback buffers in queue..its made a big difference for me..I set mine to 8.I think that the defualt is 2 or 3. I really didn't know what I was doing, but It has worked great ever since. Does this help cakewalk manage memory more efficiently?

    Dave Matthews Guitar Sound...

Does anybody have any idea whether or not Dave D.I.'s his guitar when recording or if he just mics the acoustic bare...or does he run through and amp to still maintain that fishman sound? thanks
